Lessons We Learned in 2021

2022 is practically upon us and, at Oakington Realty, part of what we do every year is reflect on what we did well in the year and what were looking forward to improving in the future!

Many people use the New Year to make resolutions; we aim to become even better realtors in 2022 and help a greater number of people.

Here are some lessons we learned in 2021:

If you treat everyone like theyre hurting, then youll be right 50% of the time.

This pandemic has taught us a lot of things and has impacted everyone in different ways. For some, nothing changed; for others, it changed everything. Even for those where life turned upside down, things changed in different ways. Some may have struggled financially, while for others it may have been mentally and emotionally draining. Regardless of the challenge, we learned that many people are hurting and need to be acknowledged. Everyone wants to be heard and understood - we are here for you.

Fear is powerful, but courage is even more powerful.

With so many people in a constant state of fear, its hard to think straight. In the end, we have two choices - to either move and act in fear or to move and act in courage. What is it that we want to achieve? Would the person who achieved that act in fear or courage? Acting from a place of courage should be prioritized, even if its challenging.

Focus is everything.

Weve noticed how important it is to keep the end goal in mind. Whats ours? To help as many people as possible buy houses that they get to call their dream home. We are here to serve YOU - that means not getting distracted by fleeting situations, but being focused on serving others.

Lead with faith.

In times of uncertainty, two things are needed - leadership and faith. With so many overwhelmed by the possibilities of what could go wrong, its necessary to have someone remind them of all that could go right. Faith is what makes miracles possible. Cant we all agree that miracles would come in handy right now? People need leaders to model after, and if you are in a privileged position to do so, then make sure to serve them.
